Cohort Screening
Core Speech can provide whole cohort screening services to identify children who are at risk of Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Cohort screening is a highly valuable tool for identifying children who may require additional assessment by a Speech and Language Therapist. Advice on how best to support the communication needs of children identified through cohort screening by Universal and Targeted Provision can also be provided.
Assessment
Core Speech can provide detailed assessment to individual children who are identified as having Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) through Cohort Screening. Detailed assessments provide further information about the specific areas of speech and language development the child requires support to develop. Written reports can also be provided with recommendations for intervention and classroom modifications.
Therapy
Core Speech can provide direct therapy sessions to individuals or small groups as part of Targeted and Specialist Provision, including specialist literacy and phonics support. This is a useful option for children who have been identified as requiring additional support from a Speech and Language Therapist through our Cohort Screening and detailed assessment packages.
Training
Core Speech can provide training to educational settings to assist them in supporting children and young people with communication and feeding needs to ensure they can Learn, Grow, and Thrive. Core Speech offers a range of bespoke training courses that can be tailored around core areas of interest, including Childhood Oral Development and Gestalt Language Processing (Natural Language Acquisition Framework).
